Benton County Recent Arrest Sources
The Benton County Sheriff's Office Zuercher portal serves as the county's main public window on new bookings. One system holds both tools. An inmate search sits beside a warrant search. Anyone arrested by the sheriff, Rogers Police, Bentonville Police, Bella Vista Police, Arkansas State Police, or another agency can land there once Benton County Jail houses the person or logs the hold. The arresting agency and the jail are not always the same. Processing takes time, too. The sheriff posts no fixed window between an arrest and its public entry, so a same-day search can miss a booking already made.
BCSO publishes no separate URL for a same-day feed or a weekly blotter. Date filters inside the roster create those views. The Arrested Today page walks through the current-date view, and Arrest Reports covers multi-day ranges, roll-off, and news context. Neither list captures every incident in the county. Juvenile entries stay hidden from the ordinary public view. Some records are restricted outright. A quick release can also pull a person out of current custody before most searches ever run.
| Window | Official method | What it can show |
|---|---|---|
| Today | Roster search by current arrest date | Name, mugshot when supplied, arrest date, agency, hold reasons, release date |
| Several days | Repeat or range-based arrest-date searches | Recent searchable entries, subject to roster availability |
| After roll-off | BCSO FOI request and court search | Retained booking material and the later case record |
Who Was Arrested in Benton County
Begin with today's date in the official portal. An empty result does not mean no arrest happened. Intake, identity checks, fingerprinting, photograph capture, and data entry can all sit between the event and the public entry. Widen the search next. Drop a spelling, date, or agency filter that may be cutting too narrow. The live setup displays arrest and release dates, held-for-agency detail, and hold reasons. It offers no posting timestamp or refresh promise, though.
Still nothing? Call the Benton County Sheriff's Office at (479) 271-1008, or file its FOI and Records Request form. For changes after booking, the VINE Arrest Check page explains custody alerts. VINE tracks status and events, not booking photos. News can beat the jail to it, and a person cited, moved elsewhere, or released early may only surface in a later search.
Search the Benton County Jail Roster
Benton County Jail, also called the Benton County Detention Center, opened in April 1999. The official jail page describes a 100,355-square-foot building with room for 669 inmates, plus pods, dorms, and work-release housing. Those numbers describe the building, not today's head count. For current custody, use the live Zuercher roster.
| Search field | Use | Important limit |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Exact or partial identity search | Spelling and aliases can affect matches |
| Race and sex | Narrow similar names | Use only when known |
| Arrest date | Find a booking window | Not a posting timestamp |
| Held for agency | Identify the linked jurisdiction | May differ from arresting agency |
| In custody on | Check a particular date | Does not create a full historic archive |
| Release date | Locate a recorded release | A blank field is not a release promise |
Work the roster in a simple order. Search the name with no extra filters first. Add the arrest date or held-for agency only if results come back too broad. Open the entry and read the custody fields together instead of leaning on the photograph alone. Reset every filter before trying another spelling. When a released or older booking vanishes, move on to BCSO Records. A roster entry can carry a mugshot, name, age treatment, race, sex, cell block, arrest and release dates, agency, and hold reasons. Booking number, bond, court date, and a facility field are not guaranteed columns.
The official BCSO iPhone app covers recent arrests too. It also lists the inmate roster, warrants, most wanted information, calls for service, and alerts. The office lists no Android version. It promises no deeper archive, either.
The official roster screen displays the county's combined inmate and warrant search interface.
The image shows the search channel. It stores no booking record. Results shift with the roster. Treat it as a live lookup, not an archive.
Benton County Booking Trends
The live roster cannot show history. An official Benton County jail population study can. It logged 8,611 bookings in 2020 and 10,068 in 2021. From January 2017 through February 2020, the county averaged 981 bookings per month. Then came 2021. The monthly average fell to 839, a 14 percent drop. These are past intake totals. They cover defined periods, not today's arrest count or current jail population.
Bentonville Citizen Connect adds a different lens. It maps reported city incidents. An incident marker is not a booking, and the map is not a jail roster. Match the tool to the question: study totals for long-term jail trends, Citizen Connect for city incidents, and the BCSO portal for a named person in custody.
Where Benton County Arrests Get Published
Official sources come first. Custody questions and record requests start with BCSO, the arresting agency, or the court. News adds narrative and later court developments. But papers pick selected events, not every booking. Unofficial indexes can hold entries long after the live roster drops them, and their counts, dates, photos, and case details may run stale or thin, so confirm each item with an official source.
| Channel | Status | Best use |
|---|---|---|
| BCSO roster | Official; photos may display | Current county custody and warrant search |
| Sheriff app | Official iPhone channel | Roster, recent arrests, warrants, alerts |
| 40/29 local news | Independent reporting | Selected arrest and court stories |
| RecentlyBooked | Unofficial | Rolling secondary index; verify every entry |
| Arrests.org | Unofficial | Date and agency browsing; not custody proof |
| Mugshots.zone | Unofficial | Deeper archive; may be wrong or untimely |
The sheriff's News page shows "No feed found." Social embeds will not fill the gap left by the roster. Local outlets pick up Benton County arrests when a story breaks. 40/29, KNWA/FOX24, 5NEWS, and the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette all cover the region. A piece may quote an affidavit or a court filing after an arrest. Still, no outlet runs a complete daily blotter. The 40/29 local-news page is one place to start. It offers selective public-safety coverage from the county.
Use a story for context, then verify custody and disposition through the official systems.
Recent Benton County Arrests by City
City police write the incident and arrest report. The jail holds the custody record. That record starts once a person is booked there. That split shapes every search. None of the three largest cities posts a daily booking roster on its site. So trace the event through the police records path first. Then turn to BCSO for custody status and booking-photo access in Benton County.
- Rogers Recent Arrests: Rogers Police records, district-court warrant routing, and the BCSO booking path.
- Bentonville Recent Arrests: Bentonville Police records, Citizen Connect incident context, and county jail custody.
- Bella Vista Recent Arrests: Bella Vista's JustFOIA request portal and the county roster route.
Smaller towns are not arrest-free just because they lack a page here. The map simply follows the Census top three. A held-for-agency field can name another jurisdiction. Transfers also move people into state, federal, immigration, or another county's custody, which complicates the trail.
What Benton County Arrest Records Show
A booking record tracks intake and custody, nothing more. It is not an arrest affidavit. Nor is it a probable-cause statement, a court docket, or a criminal-history report. Think of the public roster as one layer of the full file. The BCSO Record Division keeps inmate files and arrest paperwork sent to courts. It also holds warrant files, court-bond paperwork, and FOIA requests. The court system carries the case forward from there.
| Field | Meaning and limit |
|---|---|
| Name and age | Displayed identity data; the main view used age rather than full date of birth |
| Arrest date | Date associated with the arrest, not a conviction date |
| Mugshot | Booking photograph when publicly supplied |
| Held for agency | Agency or jurisdiction linked to the hold |
| Hold reason or charge | Accusation entered at booking; it can later change |
| Release date | Recorded release when present |
| Bond and court date | Not confirmed as consistent roster fields; check the jail and court |
Arkansas Code § 13-4-404 folds booking photographs, fingerprint cards, booking-and-custody records, and jail detention logs into one retention rule. The law demands at least five years of storage. That floor does not promise five years on the public web roster. If an online entry vanishes, ask BCSO whether the underlying file is still available.
Benton County Mugshots and Booking Photos
The live county roster shows mugshots for public results when a photo is supplied. BCSO posts no policy promising a picture for every booking. No set resolution, posting deadline, or display period is published either. A missing image can stem from processing, restriction, or system setup. It never means no booking occurred. Juveniles stay hidden from the public roster view. Sealed, expunged, investigative, or otherwise exempt material may be withheld or redacted.
A sentenced state prisoner belongs in the Arkansas Division of Correction inmate search. That tool can list an offender photograph plus state-custody details. Its image may be more recent than the county intake photo. The Federal Bureau of Prisons locator offers no booking-photo coverage. VINE is a notification service, not a photo archive.
Unofficial Benton County pages appear on RecentlyBooked, Arrests.org, Busted Newspaper, and Mugshots.zone. They republish secondary copies. Treat them as unverified even when an image lingers after the official roster rolls off. The Arkansas Judiciary disposition is the place to check how a case actually ended.
Obtain Benton County Booking Records
The BCSO FOI form is the direct route to an older booking sheet, photograph, incarceration record, or arrest file held by the sheriff. It asks for the record type, dates, location, a description, identifiers, and how you want delivery. Give enough detail to single out the record. Skip any personal data the request does not need.
- Check the official roster and save the relevant booking or arrest date.
- Identify the arresting agency and whether BCSO housed the person.
- Submit the FOI form with the full name, date range, and exact record requested.
- Ask for an estimate before copies are made. No fixed booking-photo price is published.
- If material is withheld, ask which exemption applies and pursue the court record separately.
Arkansas FOIA generally requires immediate access to public records during business hours. A file may be in active use or storage. In that case, the custodian must set a pickup time within three working days. Fees are limited to actual reproduction and mailing costs. BCSO lists no separate records phone. Use the general sheriff number or the request form. The Arkansas Attorney General FOIA page lays out the state's public-record framework.
State guidance helps you frame a request. BCSO still keeps the booking files. Use the AG page for the rules. Then send the ask to the sheriff.
Arkansas Arrest Records and Removal
Arkansas Code § 4-75-102 covers private publishers that post booking photos and charge for takedowns. Send a qualifying written request and a covered site must act free of charge within five business days. That right has limits. It does not erase the official BCSO record, a court file, or every copy floating around the web. Know the source first. Then ask for the correction or removal where the mugshot actually lives.
RecentlyBooked publishes a free correction and removal policy covering dismissed, sealed or expunged, incorrect, outdated, wrong-person, juvenile, and duplicate records. Mugshots.zone lists a local removal link, though the form does not always load, so its fields and timing stay unclear. Mugshots.com describes a free documentation route but posts no stable Benton County section. Busted Newspaper and Arrests.org list no Benton-specific free workflow either. Cite the official disposition in your request. Never pay a service to invoke a process the statute makes free.
Sealing or expungement turns on the charge, the disposition, the sentence, and the controlling law. ACIC supplies the forms. It also says plainly that it cannot pick the right order for you. The Arkansas Legal Services Authority helps people navigate that path, and a lawyer is the right voice for individual eligibility calls. Once a judge signs the order, deliver copies to the clerk, BCSO, the arresting agency, ACIC, and any republisher you know about. Search engines will refresh a corrected or removed page. They cannot delete the source record itself.
Older Benton County material starts with BCSO Records. From there, try the arresting city agency and the Benton County Circuit Clerk. The Arkansas State Archives will search its named collections on request, though nothing shows jail booking photos arriving there routinely. One last distinction matters. The five-year jail-record minimum and what sits online for the public are two different things.
Benton County Warrants and Most Wanted
Benton County warrants also run through the Zuercher portal. The warrant search filters by name, race, sex, issue date, age or date of birth, bond amount, and charge. Results return those fields plus comments. A match there is only a lead. Warrants get recalled, quashed, vacated, or changed after an index update. Confirm any hit with the issuing court or BCSO Records. BCSO's Record Division validates active warrants through ACIC and NCIC and processes those changes.
The BCSO Most Wanted page works differently. It is a tip route, not a full warrant list. The page leans on sheriff social posts and state or federal resources. It offers no fixed local count or update schedule.
The page offers safe reporting links. It settles nothing about guilt. A warrant still needs direct confirmation. Contact the office before acting.
After Benton County Arrests
Booking opens the custody record. Arraignment is the early court appearance where charges and release conditions may be addressed. Bond is a court-approved condition of release. The disposition is the later outcome. It might be a dismissal, amendment, plea, acquittal, or judgment.
The Arkansas Judiciary case search runs by participant or case number and can show charges, filings, events, judgments, and dispositions where public access permits. Rogers District Court issues Rogers warrants. The Benton County Circuit Clerk keeps the Circuit Court files. Match the court named on the paperwork. No single docket holds every matter in one place. The Arkansas Judiciary access page explains the statewide case-search replacement.
Court access provides the legal follow-through that a current jail roster cannot.
State Prison and Federal Custody
The Arkansas Division of Correction search covers sentenced state prisoners. Not everyone newly arrested shows there. Search fields include ADC number, county, name, facility, gender, offense category, age, and race. Results may add a photograph, facility, physical description, offense, and sentence details. An empty result does not disprove a county arrest. Check BCSO, VINE, and the courts first.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons locator tracks people in BOP custody, with no county booking-photo feed. The ICE detainee locator covers qualifying immigration custody. Benton County's 287(g) agreement lets some bookings pick up an immigration hold and later leave the local roster. An Associated Press report counted over 450 ICE arrests at the jail during a defined 2025 period. That is history, not a live custody total.
- Booking
- Jail intake after an arrest.
- Detainer
- A request or basis for another agency to hold or assume custody.
- Disposition
- The court's recorded outcome of a charge.
- Expungement or sealing
- A court-controlled process that restricts qualifying records under Arkansas law.
Each system answers a different question. BCSO covers current county custody, VINE sends status notifications, and ADC holds sentenced state prisoners. The courts settle case outcomes. BOP and ICE track their own federal populations, and knowing those boundaries is the surest way to follow a Benton County arrest.
